Overview:
AYOA mentors are the heartbeat of transformation. Every young person needs a mentor who believes in them—someone to guide, listen, and lead by example. Mentorship is how we break cycles and build futures.

1. Youth Transformation

We help youth 6 - 12 grade:

  • Stronger self-confidence

  • Better decision-making

2. Family Restoration

We reconnect families through programs like Family Reset by improving:

  • Parent-teen communication

  • Household structure

  • Conflict resolution

Students supported by mentoring programs often show better attendance, stronger engagement, and improved school outcomes.

AYOA supports youth through:

5. Crime Prevention & Safer Neighborhoods

When youth have structure, mentorship, and opportunity, communities often experience lower delinquency risk and stronger civic engagement.

AYOA helps redirect youth from:

6. Leadership & Service

We teach youth to become contributors, not consumers.

Students learn to:

  • Volunteer

  • Speak publicly

  • Mentor younger youth

   Qualifications

To speed up the process you must be ready to commit and have all your documentations

What you need:

  • Driver's License

  • Proof of Residence i.e. Light Bill, Phone, ect.

  • Clear Background/ We do allow criminal background mentors, however on a case-by-case bases.

  • Employment information

  • Be willing to be coachable

  • Attend a mandatory monthly meeting

  • Commit to 4hrs. a week up to 12 weeks

  • Take a 1 hr. mentor class before starting

  • Be open minded and have self-control/ No judgement allowed

  • Agree to the terms and rules of being a AYOA Team member

Annual Impact Goals

In One Year AYOA Can Help Deliver:

  • 100 youth mentored

  • 50 families supported

  • 25 youth placed into jobs/training

  • 500 volunteer service hours

  • Improved school attendance for participants

  • Lower discipline referrals among enrolled students

  • Stronger parent satisfaction scores

Become a Mentor: How to Apply:

  • Fill out the interest form

  • Attend a mentor orientation session

  • Complete a background check and training​
